I work at GameStop and for the release of Bioshock Infinite we were one of few stores to NOT host a midnight release. So to celebrate in my own fashion, I made a cake :) its only the second cake I've ever made so im quite pleased with the results. Hope you like it!

I am entering this card for the following challenge:
Cardz TV Challenge #108 - May Day
The base layer (stripes) is from Ki Memories Enchanting Paper Pad. The stripe across the top is recollections glitter tape, topped with pink flatback pearls from Martha Stewart (?). The flowers are from a tube of Prima Flowers Botanical Mix. I inked them with Spun Sugar distress ink and sprayed them with perfect pearls interference red glimmer mist. The bolder flower on the bottom left corner I cut from Flower Shoppe, sprayed with homemade glimmer mist with a bit of alcohol ink mixed in for a more dramatic color. I glued them all together and topped them off with another flatback pearl. The paper used for the sentiment is from the same paper stack listed above. The butterflies were made from a dollar punch I got from Michaels, and topped with glossy accents.
The tag and "mom" in the bottom right corner were cut using Gypsy Wanderings and Plantin SchoolBook respectively, inked, and I topped off the 'mom' with a bit of glossy accents.
Hope you like it! As usual, I appreciate any comments, questions, and advice. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Mother's Day Card
I am entering this card for the following Challenges:
Cardz Tv Cricut Cardz Challenge #107
Fantabulous Cricut #110 - Mother's Day
Exploring Cricut Challenge - Celebrating Mother' Day
I've only been doing paper crafts for about 2 weeks now, so please, constructive criticism only. Thank you!
The bottom layer paper (solid pink) is just from a cheapo stack from Jo-Ann, and the background and boarder paper is from the DCWV Once Upon a Time mat stack. The flower was cut from the same stack using the Flower Shoppe cartridge. I distressed it just a bit and spritzed it with perfect pearls mist interference red (which is pretty much pink) to match the letters. the bling in the center of it is from Michaels. It was from the kids craft section though, not scrapbooking. It sparkles SO much in the light, and it works great with alcohol inks to match your project. The hummingbird and letters were cut using Art Nouveau, the hummingbird from the dcwv shimmer matstack, and the letters from dcwv Glitter matstack. The ribbon I bought years ago when I was more into sewing than anything else so I'm not sure where that came from.
Well, thank you for stopping by! PLEASE leave a comment so I know you dropped in and can make sure to visit your blog as well! And of course, as I am new to this, I always welcome advice! Hope you like!

again, Lisa (Laura's sister) if you somehow stumble upon this, please don't read
As I mentioned previously, my friend's sister is getting married this month. While I made the previous gift to hang in their home, of course it needed to be accompanied by a card. So I took a stab at that too. I apologize in advance for the bad photo. I forgot to take a better one before I sealed it in the envelope.
Again, I only started paper crafts 2 weeks ago. I'm sorry if I don't know proper terminology of things, so I will try to explain best I can. ALSO, a lot of the embellishments in my projects are stickers or other store bought items as I am not comfortable making such things yet...moving on!
I started with a simple ivory card from Recollections. I should also mention their wedding colors are ivory, light pink, and sage. The green background and pink overlay is from the mariposa stack. I ran another strip of the ivory over them in hopes to better tie the colors together. Looking back, I wish I used ribbon...learning process.
The cake and dove stickers are from k & company I believe, and I placed the cake on some pop dots for added interest. They were kind of an off-white color which I thought matched nicely with the other colors. The embossing across the top was done with sizzix texture boutique but I unfortunately couldn't figure out how to get rid of that line from the border embossing folder :( Adds character??? Haha!
And lastly, the scalloped oval I cut with my Cricut, I want to say I used accent essentials or gypsy wanderings but I'm really not sure. Most people have punches for stuff like that I've noticed. Anyway, I lightly inked the front oval (on the pop dots ) with distress inks, spun sugar, then the edges of the oval and the scalloped oval with peeled paint to help blend with the background a bit as I didn't want the sentiment to be the major focal point so much as the cake. Finally, it was stamped with congratulations, I'm not sure what line it was, but I bought it in a small pack of 6 or 8 at Joanns.
I guess that's about everything for this post. In the next one I'll be showing the final gift to the couple. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon, and comments are greatly appreciated!

LISA (laura's sister) if you somehow find this blog, DON'T LOOK!
My friend Laura's sister is getting married this month. The couple loves handmade gifts, so I was up to the task. This is the first project I made using my cricut. It was challenging and so fun. Let's get right to it!
Everything here was created in SCAL. The silhouette was actually made with the trace option, it was a photo of them on the beach. It was cut in vinyl and adhered between 2 sheets of glass in an invisible frame. The red portion was actually white vinyl that I inked up with a couple of alcohol inks to create a shimmery, rusted red color. It's beautiful in proper light.
This was the first gift for them. I hope they like it!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello craft world!
Hiiii! Figured I'd give you a little information about myself before I get started on the crafty goodness (in the next post).
My name is Jessica, I currently live in va beach with my amazing and handsome and amazingly handsome boyfriend, Marc. I'm a sugar mama...definition, I am the proud mom of 2 little adorable sugar gliders, Gemma and Atreyu. I have many other passions: music (I played trumpet for about 12 years, along with many other instruments), video games (this is actually how I met the love of my life), Japanese (I spent a year abroad in Japan, it was amazing!). As far as crafts, I began sewing about 7 years ago. Since then, I've branched into hair accessories and jewelry, which can be found in my etsy store here. But recently, paper has taken over my life. I bought the Cricut expression as it was being discontinued and haven't looked back. I can't say I'm a scrapper, as I haven't done one scrapbook page haha, sooo does that mean I do paper crafts? Either way, I started about 2 weeks ago. My projects are simple, usually involve a lot of stickers as I'm not good at creating embellishments on my own just yet, so please go easy on me. I will gladly accept constructive criticism as I want to improve, but if you're looking for ideas you're in the wrong place haha I'm learning from all of YOU! Thank you so much for stopping by. I will begin showing some of my work in the next post.
